Every prediction must have a clearly defined outcome that can be verified using an objective and publicly available source of truth.
When creating predictions, it is important to ensure that:
- the question is unambiguous;
- the event can be verified reliably;
- the resolution criteria are clear before voting begins.
Predictions are resolved after the event outcome becomes known. The API Owner selects the final result — Yes or No — based on the predefined resolution criteria and trusted external information sources.
To maintain consistency and transparency, prediction markets should always reference a reliable source of truth, such as:
- official announcements;
- public statistics;
- verified event results;
- blockchain data;
- trusted third-party providers.
Once the prediction is resolved, the settlement process is executed automatically through the Solana smart contract infrastructure.
You can read more about how outcomes are determined, which resolution principles should be followed, and how disputed or unclear cases are handled in the Duel Duck Prediction Resolution Rules section.
The smart contract handles:
- winner determination;
- reward calculations;
- fee deductions;
- payout distribution.
User funds remain locked within the prediction pool until the resolution process is completed. After settlement, rewards are automatically distributed to winning participants directly to their connected wallets.
